What the work involves.
In a Dallas summer a lot of the heat that reaches a room comes through the glass. Older single pane and early double pane windows let in heat in July and lose it in January, and failed seals show up as fog between the panes. We install custom windows and skylights, sized to the opening, in double and triple pane.
Low-E glass carries a thin metallic coating that reflects infrared heat while letting visible light through. In a cooling-dominated climate like North Texas, a Low-E coating is one of the most useful upgrades on a window, because it cuts the solar heat coming in without darkening the room.
How It Works
Free nine-point inspection
Valleys, ridge, shingles, chimney, ventilation, gutters, drip edge and flashing, with drone photos sent to you.
Property protected
Tarps over pools and bushes, and cover for windows, garage doors and AC units before the tear-off.
Down to the decking
Old shingles and underlayment come off, the decking is inspected, and bad boards are replaced.
Rebuilt and cleaned up
Drip edge, ice and water membrane, synthetic underlayment, GAF Timberline HDZ and Z-Ridge, ventilation corrected, and a roller magnet over the yard.
The Difference
What to know before you decide.
Double pane windows are the standard choice for most homes. Triple pane adds a third layer of glass and a second gas-filled space, which improves insulation and cuts outside noise, and it costs more. On a house near a busy road or under a flight path, the noise reduction alone can justify it.
Skylights sit in the roof, which puts them in a roofer’s territory as much as a window installer’s. A skylight is flashed into the roof like any other penetration, and a poorly flashed skylight is a common leak. When a roof is being replaced, it is the right moment to replace old skylights too, so the flashing is done once and done with the new roof.
Hail breaks windows and screens as well as roofs. When a storm claim covers the exterior, damaged windows can go on the same scope as the roof.

Double or triple pane windows?
Double pane with Low-E glass suits most Dallas homes. Triple pane insulates better and blocks more noise, at a higher price.
What does Low-E glass do?
A thin coating reflects infrared heat while letting light through, which reduces the heat coming into the house in summer.
Should skylights be replaced with a new roof?
Usually, yes. Replacing them at the same time means the flashing is installed once, with the new roof.
